PEDIGREES

The International breed registry is the SocieteCentrale Canine in France and the rules for naming puppies is interesting and distinctive. Each year is assigned a letter and all puppies from that year must be given a name beginning with that letter. For example, all names for the year 2000 were to begin with the letter “R” which is the reason our two older dogs from separate litters from different areas of France were officially named “Rafale” and “Ravaillac.” Our two later puppies born in 2003 were named Urricane and Ultra to correspond with the letter “U.”
In America, the breed is recognized and registered only by the United Kennel Club. Our dogs have been registered with both the Societe centrale canine and the United Kennel Club.
